Product details

This is the Hayward Pro Series top mount sand filter in the 24 inch tank size, supplied with a 2 inch top mount valve. Hayward lists it as W3S244T2, and you will also see the same filter referred to by the older S244T2 number.

Top mount

The valve sits on top of the tank instead of on the side. That keeps the equipment pad footprint tighter and puts the plumbing connections up where they are easy to reach. The 2 inch valve suits larger plumbing runs and the flow rates that go with them.

Sand filtration

A sand filter is the least demanding of the three filter types to own. There are no grids to pull and no cartridges to replace on a schedule. Routine maintenance is backwashing, and the sand bed itself lasts for years before it needs changing.

Filter sand is not included. Check the Hayward manual for the correct charge for the 24 inch tank before you fill it.
