Product details

Pentair 52000500 is the clamp o-ring for 30 inch tank sand filters in the Meteor and Eclipse families. It is the genuine Pentair part, not a generic ring cut to a similar size.

What it seals

On a clamped tank filter, the o-ring sits in the joint between the two halves of the tank and the clamp band squeezes it. All of the pressure holding that joint closed passes through this one piece of rubber, so a ring that has hardened, flattened or nicked will let water out no matter how tight the clamp is pulled.

When to fit one

Any time the filter is opened. If the tank has been apart for a sand change or an internals inspection, put a new ring in rather than reusing the one that has been compressed all season. Pentair notes this ring may also fit other filter models, so if your filter is not listed it is worth comparing it against the one you removed.
