Product details
The Waterway 400-9150 is a white return fitting with a 1-1/2 in. FPT connection on the pool side and a 1-1/2 in. slip socket on the pipe side. The nut is included, so the wall assembly arrives complete.
How it goes together
The slip socket glues to the 1-1/2 in. return line behind the wall and the nut draws the fitting up against the shell. The threaded pool side then takes a return eyeball or a directional fitting, which is what actually aims the flow and is ordered separately.
When to replace one
Return fittings crack at the threads from an over tightened eyeball, or split after a freeze. Once cracked they leak behind the shell where you cannot see it, so the fix is a new fitting rather than sealant. Check the thread condition on the old fitting before you decide whether the eyeball can be reused.
