Product details

The Jandy R0575400 is the high pressure switch for the JE Series pool heat pump. It is the genuine Jandy replacement part.

What it protects

A heat pump moves heat by circulating refrigerant, and the compressor lives on the high pressure side of that loop. If pressure there climbs past the design limit, the compressor is at risk. The high pressure switch is a simple safety device that opens the control circuit when that happens, shutting the unit down before the expensive part is damaged.

Diagnosing before you replace

A heat pump repeatedly faulting on high pressure has two possible causes: the switch has failed and is opening when it should not, or the pressure really is high. Genuinely high head pressure comes from a dirty or blocked coil, a fan not moving air properly, or poor water flow through the heat exchanger. Check those first. Replacing a switch that was doing its job correctly just removes the protection and leaves the underlying fault in place.

What does the high pressure switch do?
It monitors refrigerant pressure on the high side and opens the control circuit if pressure gets too high, stopping the unit before the compressor is damaged.
My heat pump keeps faulting on high pressure. Is the switch bad?
Not necessarily. Restricted air flow across the coil, a dirty coil, or low water flow can all raise head pressure for real. Rule those out before replacing the switch.
