Product details
The Waterway 411-6520 is a 90 degree elbow with a 1-1/2 inch male pipe thread on one end and a 1-1/2 inch hose barb on the other. It is the genuine Waterway fitting.
What it replaces
Without it you would need a threaded elbow plus a separate barb adapter, which means an extra joint sitting somewhere it is awkward to reach. Combining the two into one molded fitting removes that joint, and every joint you remove is one that cannot weep later.
Fitting notes
The barb end takes flexible hose of the matching size, pushed fully home and held with a hose clamp. The threaded end wants PTFE tape or a plastic rated thread sealant, and it should be brought up hand tight plus about a turn. Plastic female threads split when a fitting is cranked in with a wrench, and that failure usually shows up days later rather than immediately.
