Product details

The Hayward SPX0590A is the stainless steel face plate rim for the Astrolite II underwater light, models SP-0590S and SP-0590HS. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What the rim does

The face plate rim is the ring you see at the pool wall. It trims the fixture and clamps the face assembly so the lens sits evenly against the niche. When the rim corrodes, the clamping is no longer even and the rim itself looks rusted and stained against the plaster or tile.

Replace the rim on its own

This part is sold as the rim alone. The lens, the lens gasket and the lamp are separate items, which means a light that is otherwise working can be tidied up for the cost of one part. If the light is coming apart anyway, it is worth inspecting the gasket while the face is off.

Which light does this fit?
The Hayward Astrolite II, models SP-0590S and SP-0590HS.
Is the lens or gasket included?
No. SPX0590A is the face plate rim alone. The lens, the lens gasket and the lamp are separate Hayward parts.
Why would I replace the rim?
Rims stain, pit and corrode over the years, and a rim that has rusted through no longer holds the face assembly evenly against the niche. It is also the part everyone sees from the deck.
Is it genuine Hayward?
Yes. It is the Hayward OEM part, SPX0590A, in stainless steel.
