What it does
The ball is the swiveling insert that sits in the middle of a wall return. Water leaves the pool equipment, comes back through the wall, and passes through the bore in this ball. Because the ball turns in its seat, the jet can be aimed up, down or along the wall, which is how a pool is set up to turn its whole volume over rather than dead spotting in the corners.
Before you order
Check the opening. This one is 3/4 inch, and Hayward makes the ball in more than one bore size. A smaller opening speeds the jet up and a larger one slows it down, so match what came out unless you are deliberately changing the flow. This listing is the ball only.
