CMP 25831-130-100 is the piston assembly for a slide valve, supplied as the internal assembly for the 263034 7.5 inch P-style slide valve body.

What goes wrong with a slide valve

A slide valve seals with a piston that travels inside the body. The body is rigid PVC and lasts, but the seals on the piston take the wear, and over time they let water past even with the handle fully down. That is what an owner notices first: a valve that is closed but still passing water to the drain or to the return.

Rebuild rather than replace

Because the assembly comes out of the top of the body, the valve does not have to come out of the plumbing. That turns a cut and glue job into a parts swap. While the internals are out, look down the bore for scoring, since a damaged bore will wear a new piston assembly quickly.

Which valve body does this go into?
The 263034 7.5 inch P-style slide valve body. Confirm both the size and that body number before ordering.
Is this the whole valve?
No. It is the internal piston assembly. The valve body is separate and normally stays in the plumbing.
My slide valve leaks past when it is closed. Is this the fix?
That symptom points at worn piston seals, which is exactly what this assembly replaces. Inspect the body bore for scoring at the same time, because a scored bore will chew up new seals.
Do I have to cut the valve out to do this?
No. The point of a piston assembly is that the internals come out and go back in with the body still glued into the line.
