What the blower does
The blower pushes combustion air through the burner tray. The control has to see that airflow before it will open the gas valve, which is why a heater with a failing blower usually presents as one that will not fire at all rather than one that heats poorly.
Signs it is due
Bearing noise on start, a wheel that is slow to spin up, or a heater that locks out on a pressure switch fault with clean vents and a clear flue. Confirm the voltage of the unit coming out, since this is the 240v part.
