The Hayward SPX0590K is the blue and red lens cover kit for SP0590S and SP0590HS lights in the AstroLite II series. It is the genuine Hayward part.
What the covers do
The covers sit over the lens and tint the output of a white lamp. That is how a plain fixture gets color without touching the wiring, the transformer or the niche. Because they live in hot water and chlorine, covers cloud, fade and eventually crack, and a cracked cover looks worse lit than no cover at all.
Fitting
Changing covers means pulling the fixture from the niche, the same access as a lamp change. Since the light is already open, check the lens gasket at the same time. It is a separate Hayward part and it is the seal that keeps water out of the fixture.
