The Pentair 51000511 is the black lid, complete with the printed position label, for the 1-1/2 inch side mount multiport valve. It is listed for the 501501 and 501601 valves.

Why lids get replaced

The lid is the part of a multiport that lives in direct sun and takes the most chemical exposure. The printed label fades until the positions cannot be told apart, and the plastic goes brittle and cracks around the fastener points. Neither problem means the valve is finished, and neither is worth guessing about when the setting is wrong and the filter is being backwashed by mistake.

Which valves does this lid fit?
The 1-1/2 inch side mount multiport valve. It is listed under models 501501 and 501601.
Does the label come printed on it?
Yes. The lid is supplied with the position label, so the valve settings can be read again.
Will it fit a 2 inch multiport?
No. This is the 1-1/2 inch lid. The 2 inch valves use a different part.
Do I need to drain the system to change it?
The lid sits on top of the valve, so the job is done at the valve rather than in the plumbing. Shut the pump off and relieve system pressure before opening anything.
