Product details

27001-0009S is the lower tank shell half for Sta-Rite PLM and PLD filter systems, and for the System 2 Modular Media and System 2 modular DE filters that share the same two piece tank.

What it replaces

These filters use a tank split across the middle and held together by a lock ring. This part is the bottom half. If the shell has cracked, split at the clamp lip or gone chalky and brittle with age, it has to be replaced rather than repaired, because the tank is a pressure vessel.

What carries over

The cartridges or grids, the internal assemblies and the plumbing connections all move to the new shell. While the filter is open it is worth checking the lock ring, the safety latch and the tank body O-ring, since those are the parts that wear alongside the shell.

Genuine part

This is the factory shell, sold under the Sta-Rite and Pentair names, so it matches the original mating surface and the lock ring already on your filter.

Is this the top or the bottom of the tank?
The bottom. 27001-0009S is the lower shell half. The upper half with the air relief valve is ordered separately.
