Product details

The Pentair 225571 is the 1-1/2 in. five port top feed T-valve from A&A Manufacturing, supplied in the version without QuikStop. It is the valve that drives an in floor pop-up cleaning system.

How it works

Rather than trickling water to every pop-up head at once, the valve sends the full pressure to one zone at a time and then indexes to the next. That is what gives each head enough force to actually move debris toward the main drain instead of stirring it around. The speed control mechanism in the upper housing sets how fast the valve steps between zones.

A side benefit at the heater

Because the valve keeps pushing water out through the floor, it turns over the whole body of water instead of leaving the warm layer sitting on top. Pools with heaters see the benefit as more even temperature rather than a hot surface and a cold bottom.

Before you order

Check whether the valve you are replacing has QuikStop. This is the version without it, so the two are not interchangeable.
