Product details

The CMP 25923-204-000 is a 3-way HydroSeal diverter valve in black CPVC, sized for 2 inch socket connections and supplied with unions. Custom Molded Products lists the body as NSF.

Where it goes

A 3-way valve is the switch on an equipment pad. One port feeds in, and the handle decides whether the water goes to the first outlet, the second, or somewhere in between. That is what moves a system between pool and spa, chooses between two skimmers, or splits return flow between a main line and a water feature.

Unions matter

Buying the version with unions is what makes the valve serviceable later. When a diverter eventually needs new seals or a new handle, a union bodied valve comes out with a pair of nuts instead of a saw, and the plumbing goes back exactly as it was.

CPVC body

CPVC is rated for higher water temperature than standard PVC, which is why it is the material of choice downstream of a heater and on spa plumbing that runs hot for long periods.

What does a 3-way diverter do?
It takes flow in one port and sends it to either of two others, or splits it between them depending on where you set the handle. It is how a pad switches between pool and spa, or balances two suction or return lines.
Do I need separate unions?
No. This version comes with unions, so the valve can be unbolted and lifted out for service without cutting the pipe.
What size pipe does it take?
2 inch socket connections.
Why CPVC rather than PVC?
CPVC holds up to higher water temperatures, which matters on the hot side of a heater or on spa plumbing.
