The Pentair 263060 is a FullFloXF check valve in CPVC, sized 2.5 in with a 3 in slip connection on the outside.
What it is for
A check valve passes water one way and closes against the other. On a pool system that matters most when the pump stops: without one, water in the plumbing runs back down through whatever sits above it. That is why check valves turn up ahead of chlorinators, after heaters and on solar returns.
Why CPVC
CPVC takes more heat than standard PVC, which is what puts it on the hot side of heater plumbing where a plain PVC valve is working at its limit.
