The Hayward AX6000HFA is the hose swivel assembly used on the Phantom and Phantom Turbo suction pool cleaners. It is the genuine Hayward part, supplied complete and ready to drop into the hose run.
What the swivel does
A suction cleaner spends its whole cycle changing direction. Without a working swivel every one of those turns puts a twist into the hose, and after a few hours the hose is a tight coil that pulls the cleaner off its pattern. The swivel lets the hose rotate on itself so the twist never builds.
When to replace it
Grit and age eventually stiffen a swivel until it no longer turns. The symptom looks like a cleaner problem: the unit works one end of the pool, drags the hose behind it, or stalls in a corner. Spin the swivel by hand, and if it binds or grinds, replace it before chasing anything else.
