Product details

The Hayward EC1155 is a suction and discharge hose package sized for 1-1/2 in. connections. Hayward lists it as 1.5 in. by 6 ft and supplies both hoses as a single kit.

Why hoses fail

Hose spends its life in sun and in and out of water. Over seasons it hardens, the wall thins where it flexes, and cracks open at the fittings. A discharge hose that splits is obvious because it sprays. A suction hose is not: it can pull air through a crack while showing no leak at all, and the symptoms turn up as a pump that will not hold prime or a steady stream of bubbles at the returns.

What you get

Both hoses in one package, as the genuine Hayward part rather than a generic length cut to size.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What size are the hoses?
1-1/2 in. Hayward lists the package as 1.5 in. by 6 ft.
Do I get both hoses?
Yes. EC1155 is the suction and discharge hose package, so both come in the kit.
Is this a genuine Hayward part?
Yes. It is Hayward part EC1155.
Why replace a hose that still holds water?
A suction hose that has hardened or developed a small split will pull air even when it does not leak water, which shows up as a pump that loses prime or a stream of bubbles at the returns.
