The CMP 25810-200-950 is the replacement zinc bar for the Deluxe model Pool Defender, the inline zinc anode fitted into pool plumbing to control galvanic corrosion.

How the Pool Defender works

Zinc gives itself up before other metals do. Put a zinc bar in the water path and it corrodes first, which is exactly what you want, because the corrosion is happening to a part designed to be thrown away rather than to fittings, fasteners and equipment.

Only the bar is consumed

That is the reason this listing exists. The housing stays in the plumbing and only the zinc inside it is replaced. When the bar has wasted down, thinned or begun to crumble, it has finished its job and a fresh one goes in. This is the Deluxe model bar, so check which Pool Defender is installed before ordering.
