Hayward SwimClear Cartridge Filter 325 sq. ft.

The Hayward SwimClear W3C3030 is a 325 sq. ft. cartridge filter for inground pools. Four quad-cluster cartridge elements give it a large filtering area, which means longer intervals between cleanings and lower pressure on the pump.

Tank and hardware

The tank is molded from a new, stronger reinforced co-polymer for strength and durability. A heavy-duty, tamper-proof one-piece clamp holds the halves together, and the tank top and bottom are self-aligning so reassembly after a cartridge clean is straightforward. The base is a uniform low-profile design that sits flat on the pad.

Plumbing and service

CPVC union couplings connect the filter to the plumbing, so it can come out without cutting pipe. Bulkhead fittings are Noryl. A full-size 1-1/2 in. integral drain empties the tank quickly for winterizing, and a manual air relief bleeds the system on start-up. The top manifold distributes flow across the elements.

Cartridges

The pressure and cleaning-cycle-indicator gauge shows when the elements need rinsing. Replacement cartridges are the Unicel C-7483.
