Product details
The Hayward SPX1091E is the widemouth extension for the SP1091 above ground pool skimmer. It fits the SP1091LX and the SP1091WM, and gives the skimmer a wider opening than the standard face.
What a wider mouth buys you
A skimmer only catches what the surface current carries into it. Widening the throat pulls in a broader band of water, so leaves, pollen and bugs get collected while they are still floating. Anything the skimmer misses eventually sinks, and then it is vacuum work instead.
Fitting
This is the extension only, in molded plastic, mounting to the front of the SP1091 skimmer body. The basket, weir and lid are separate parts, so check what else is worn while you have the skimmer open.
