The CMP 25524-204-000 is a black wall return fitting with a 1-1/2" FIP connection and a 2" pool side, listed for gunite pools.
Where it goes
The return fitting is the piece at the pool wall that filtered water comes back through. It threads onto the return line and finishes the penetration on the inside of the shell.
Sizing

Why black
Black hardware disappears into dark plaster, pebble and tile finishes in a way white fittings never do. On a pool that has been resurfaced dark, changing the returns over is a small detail that makes the finish look finished.
