Pentair 263054 is the o-ring replacement kit for push / pull valves, sometimes called slide valves. It contains all of the o-rings used in valve models 263052, 263053, 263064, 263078 and 263079.
Why a valve starts leaking
A push / pull valve seals on o-rings that ride against the plunger and the valve body every time the handle moves. Chlorine, heat and grit harden and score them over the years. The symptom is water weeping at the stem when the valve is pulled, or filtered water bleeding to waste when it is pushed down. Neither means the valve body is finished.
A reseal, not a replacement
Because the kit covers every o-ring in the valve, the repair is done with the valve still plumbed in. That is a far smaller job than cutting out and replacing a valve, and it returns the original Pentair sealing surfaces to spec.
