Is 460734 the natural gas or the propane MasterTemp 300?
Natural gas. Pentair builds each MasterTemp 300 for one fuel, and the propane version is a separate part number.
Where is the manual for the MasterTemp 300?
Under Downloads on this page, as the Owners Manual. It is Pentair's MasterTemp Installation and User's Guide, part number 472592, which covers the 175,000 to 400,000 BTU models in natural gas and propane, the HD and ASME versions included.
How do I reset a MasterTemp 300 after an error code?
It depends on the code. Pentair's manual clears ERR IGN with the HEATER OFF button and ERR AGS by cycling the power, and ERR PS clears by itself once water is flowing. A code that comes back is the heater reporting a fault, so find the cause first. Our pool heater error code guide goes through each one.
Does the MasterTemp 300 have a standing pilot?
No. It lights with a hot surface igniter on each call for heat, so there is no standing pilot to keep lit or relight.
What power and connections does the MasterTemp 300 need?
120 or 240 VAC, single phase. It ships with the 240 V plug fitted, and Pentair's manual gives about 5 A at 120 V and 2.5 A at 240 V, on a 15 A circuit. Water connects with the 2 inch PVC slip unions that come with the heater, and the gas connection is 3/4 inch.
Can the MasterTemp 300 be converted to propane?
Pentair's manual says not to attempt a fuel conversion yourself and to refer it to a qualified service technician or gas supplier. If the pool is on propane, the propane MasterTemp 300 is the heater to order.
