The Pentair 461020 is the commercial MasterTemp, an ASME rated natural gas pool and spa heater with 250,000 BTU input and a heavy duty cupro nickel heat exchanger.
What the commercial version adds
Two things separate it from the backyard MasterTemp. It is ASME rated, which is what most commercial specifications and inspectors ask for on a public pool. And the exchanger is the high performance, heavy duty cupro nickel build, which holds up better where water chemistry runs hard on plain copper. On a commercial pool that gets shocked, corrected and pushed harder than a home pool, that difference shows up in the service life.
Controls and firing
Control is digital with electronic ignition, so there is no standing pilot burning fuel between cycles and nothing to relight after a windy night. It is Low NOx rated, which matters in the regions that now require it on new gas installations.
Planning the installation
The cabinet measures 23.02 inches wide, 32.61 inches deep and 28.15 inches high. Water connections are 2 inch, the gas connection is 3/4 inch, and the heater is rated to 120 gpm of flow. Electrically it wants 120/240 VAC, 60 Hz, single phase. Gas heater installation is licensed work, and a commercial ASME heater is not an install to attempt without one.
