Quick overview

  • Laser L190 The stand pipe manifold assembly for the Jacuzzi Laser 190L sand filter.
  • Laterals not included This is the stand pipe and manifold only, so order laterals separately if yours are broken.
  • Snap-fit design The laterals snap onto the manifold rather than threading in one at a time.
  • Carries filtered water out The stand pipe is the column that runs down the center of the tank and returns clean water to the valve.
  • Sand in the pool A cracked stand pipe or manifold is the usual reason sand starts coming back through the returns.
  • Full sand change Getting the manifold out means emptying the tank, so plan on fresh media while it is open.

Product details

The Jacuzzi 42376004R is the snap-fit stand pipe manifold assembly for the Laser L190 sand filter with the bolt-on valve. Laterals are not included.

What it does

The stand pipe runs down the center of the tank to the manifold sitting in the sand bed. Water is pushed down through the media, passes through the laterals, and returns up the stand pipe to the valve. That column is the only route filtered water has out of the tank.

When it needs replacing

Sand appearing in the pool is the classic symptom. A crack anywhere in the stand pipe, the manifold or one of the laterals lets media bypass the screens and travel straight out to the returns. Since the manifold sits at the bottom of the tank, reaching it means emptying the sand out, which is the natural moment to put in fresh media and check every lateral rather than replacing one piece at a time.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Do the laterals come with it?
No. This is the stand pipe and manifold assembly only. Laterals are ordered separately.
Which filter is it for?
The Jacuzzi Laser 190L sand filter with the bolt-on top mount valve.
Why is sand blowing into my pool?
Nearly always a crack in a lateral, the manifold or the stand pipe. Once the sand has a path past the manifold it goes straight out to the returns.
What is involved in fitting it?
The tank has to be opened and the sand removed to reach the manifold at the bottom. Since the sand is out anyway, most people put fresh media in at the same time.
