This is the genuine Pentair 170016 tank bottom assembly for the FNS36 Plus DE filter. It is the lower half of the filter tank, supplied as an assembly.
What it does
The tank bottom holds the grid assembly and takes the full working pressure of the filter. It is not a part that wears out gradually. It gets replaced when it cracks, splits at a seam or leaks under pressure, and a cracked tank half is not something to patch.
