The Pentair 140316 is the TR140C Triton sand filter, a 36 inch fiberglass tank set up for a side mounted backwash valve. It is the largest tank in the Triton range we carry.
The valve is a separate order
This filter ships as a tank only. The backwash valve that handles filter, backwash, rinse and waste is not in the box, and the filter cannot be plumbed or operated without one. Specify a side mount valve alongside the filter so both arrive together.
Tank and connection
The shell is fiberglass, and the filter is listed with a 3 inch flange connection. Both the tank diameter and the flange size are worth checking against what is on the pad now, because a 36 inch tank needs the pump and the plumbing to match it.
A note on the model name
You will see this filter listed as a Triton C and as a Triton II TR depending on the source. The part number, 140316, and the TR140C model marking are the same in both cases, so order by those.
