Product details

The AquaStar PF1025 is the air relief valve assembly for the Pipeline filter. It is the genuine AquaStar part, supplied complete rather than as a bare stem.

Why the relief valve matters

Every time the pump is shut down, opened up or loses prime, air collects in the top of the filter tank. The relief valve is how that air gets out. Left in, the air pocket reduces the working area of the filter, makes the pressure gauge read oddly and puts the tank under stored pressure that has nowhere to go until someone loosens the lid clamp.

When to replace it

Relief valves live outdoors, get turned by hand every service visit and take the full sun. They crack, seize or start weeping around the stem long before anything else on the filter wears out. If yours no longer seals when closed, or will not open without a fight, change the assembly rather than fighting it.

What does the air relief valve actually do?
It vents the air that collects at the top of the filter tank. You open it after starting the pump until water sprays instead of air, then close it, so the filter runs full of water rather than half full of air.
Will this fit my Pipeline filter?
It is the AquaStar PF1025 relief valve assembly for the Pipeline filter. Check the number stamped on your old valve before ordering.
Is this the complete valve or just the stem?

Why is water weeping from my relief valve?
