The Hayward W36060 is a booster pump for pressure side pool cleaners, wired for either 115V or 230V. It is built to be a straightforward replacement for any 3/4 HP booster pump on an existing pad.
Plumbing it in
Two connection styles are supported. The 1-1/2 in. plumbing union fittings suit a hard plumbed pad and make removal for service simple, while the 3/4 in. hose barb union adapters let the pump go straight onto an existing flexible hose run. The volute can also be turned in the field if the discharge needs to face horizontally, which saves reworking pipe.
Running cost and noise
Hayward rates the pump at up to 40 percent less electricity than other booster pumps, and it is built to run quietly. Since a booster only runs while the cleaner runs, the saving shows up over a full season of cleaning cycles.
Installation details
The tall mounting base gives the motor more ventilation and lifts it away from standing water on the pad. The drain plug fits and removes without tools for winterizing. The optional 3/4 in. retrofit hose kit, P/N 6060HKIT, is not included.
