Product details

This is the Jacuzzi manifold retainer knob supplied with its washer, the fastener that holds the manifold down over the cartridge stack in a Tri-Clops filter. It is catalogued as 42365304R and also appears as 4669-06.

What it does

Inside a Tri-Clops the manifold caps the cartridges and directs flow through them. The retainer knob is what keeps that manifold seated. When the knob cracks or its threads strip, the manifold can lift under pressure and water finds a path around the elements instead of through them. The pool goes cloudy while the pressure gauge stays low, which sends a lot of owners hunting for the wrong problem.

When to change it

Plastic knobs age in sunlight and chlorine, so a knob that has gone chalky, will not tighten, or shows a hairline split should be replaced. The washer goes with it in this listing, which matters because a hardened washer will not seal even behind a fresh knob. It is an easy part to swap while the filter is already apart for a cartridge clean.
