Why the step nozzle is its own part
A PCC2000 system feeds a set of popup heads that rise, sweep and drop back flush. The heads on steps and benches use a nozzle chosen for that position, which is why Paramount lists it separately from the floor nozzles. Ordering the wrong one means the head fits but does not sweep the way it should.
When to replace it
Nozzles wear from years of grit passing through them, and they crack or snap off when something heavy lands on a step. If one head has stopped clearing its area while the rest of the system still works, the nozzle is the first thing to look at.
