The Aladdin 500P is a universal adapter ring in ABS plastic, 10-7/8 in. inside diameter by 12-5/8 in. outside diameter, that converts a light niche so it will accept a standard replacement pool light.
Why a ring instead of a new niche
Replacing a niche means breaking into the pool wall. An adapter ring is the cheap way out: it makes an old niche take a current fixture, so the repair stays at the light itself. The 500P adapts to the same lights that fit the 500, 500B and 500C models, and it is listed for Purex, Wade and Pac Fab, Hayward Starlight and Duralite Series, and American Amerlite and Hayward Astrolite Series lights.
Build
ABS gives it the durability to sit in pool water without corroding, and the light weight makes it easy to handle at the wall. The ground strap is molded into the casing as part of the design. Screws are included with the ring.
