Product details

The Hayward Power-Flo Matrix Series pump in 1-1/2 horsepower, part W3SP1593, is an above ground pool pump that runs on 115V and comes with a 6 ft cord.

Who it is for

This is an above ground pump. It is designed to sit beside the pool and pull water from the skimmer through the filter and back, on standard household power, without the hard wired 230V pad an in-ground system usually assumes.

Sizing

Hayward offers the Matrix in more than one horsepower. Bigger is not automatically better on an above ground pool: the pump has to match the filter and the plumbing, or the filter is pushed past its design flow and the pump works against restriction. If you are replacing an existing pump, matching the horsepower you have is usually the right move.

Cord and power

The 6 ft cord is fitted from the factory. Make sure the receptacle serving the pool and the circuit behind it meet local electrical code for pool equipment before the pump goes into service.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Is this for an above ground pool?
Yes. The Power-Flo Matrix Series is Hayward's above ground pump line.
What voltage does it need?
115V, and it comes with a 6 ft cord fitted.
What size is it?
1-1/2 horsepower. Hayward builds the Matrix in more than one size, so match the horsepower to your filter and plumbing rather than assuming bigger is better.
Does it come ready to plug in?
It ships with a 6 ft cord, so there is no hard wiring at the pump end. Confirm the circuit and receptacle at the pool meet local electrical code.
