The Hayward VLX4006A is the pump to filter hose, supplied with its adapters, for the VL Series above ground pump and filter combo.
What it does
On a VL Series combo the pump and the filter sit side by side on the same base and are joined by a short hose. Everything the pump moves passes through it. The hose and its adapters are the pieces that take the pressure and the flex at that joint, which is why they are the first place a VL system starts to drip.
Fitting it
It replaces the original hose directly, with the adapters included so both ends land on fresh, undamaged surfaces. Check the clamps while you are in there. A new hose on a rusted or over-opened clamp will weep just as the old one did.
