This is the Hayward SX240DPAK10, a pack of ten SX240D threaded laterals for Hayward sand filters. They measure 6 7/8 inches long and 7/8 inches in diameter, and thread in on a 3/4 inch MPT connection.
What laterals do
Laterals are the slotted fingers at the bottom of a sand filter. Water leaves the tank through them, and the slots are narrow enough to hold the sand back while letting filtered water pass. When a lateral cracks, sand goes straight out to the returns and shows up on the pool floor.
