The Waterway 880-2020 is a 2 in. slice valve with 2 in. slip connections on both ends, in white.

How a slice valve works

Rather than turning a ball or a diverter, a slice valve drops a blade down across the bore to cut the flow. It is a simple, direct way to shut a line, and the handle position tells you at a glance whether the valve is open or closed.

Plumbing it in

Both ends are slip, so the valve solvent welds straight into 2 in. rigid pipe. That makes it the piece to build in where you want to isolate a leg of the system, a heater bypass or a spa line, without draining everything to work on it.

Waterway also lists a smaller slice valve for 1-1/2 in. plumbing, so match the valve to the pipe you actually have.
