The Waterway 310-4180 is the closed face impeller for the Waterway Executive pump, rated at 5.0 horsepower and made by Waterway Plastics for the Executive wet end.
Matching the motor
The impeller has to match what turns it. This one must be installed on a 5.0 hp or greater thru bolt motor. Putting a large impeller on a smaller motor loads the motor beyond its rating, and the usual result is heat, tripped overloads and a short motor life.
Checking the fit
The full dimensions are listed in the specifications so the old part can be measured against them. The key numbers are a 4-1/2 inch impeller outside diameter, a 2-3/8 inch eye outside diameter, a 5/8 inch shaft bore and a 1-1/4 inch shaft length.
While it is apart
The shaft seal is not included with the impeller. Since the pump has to be opened and the impeller pulled to reach it, replacing the seal at the same time is the sensible move.
