Product details

The Waterway 310-4010 is the 1-1/2 HP impeller for the Hi Flo pump, a six vane gray plastic impeller with an extended inlet. It is the genuine Waterway part.

How to confirm the fit

Impellers look alike across a pump family but are sized to horsepower, so measure and read the molding before ordering. This one is 3-5/8 inches across the outside and 3-3/16 inches from the end of the shaft to the front of the intake. The extended inlet is 1 inch long with a 1-1/2 inch inside diameter and a 1-7/8 inch outside diameter. The inlet side is molded SIDE DISH COVER 313-1530 and ASSY 310-4010-D - 1 1/2 HP.

Details worth noting

On the shaft side there is a small raised ring around the shaft, 5/16 inch tall with an outside diameter of 1-9/16 inches, plus a small ridge running around the outside diameter of the impeller. Those two features are the quickest way to tell this part from a similar looking impeller.

While the wet end is open

Taking an impeller off disturbs the shaft seal, so fit a new seal at the same time rather than reusing one that has been moved. Look at the wear ring as well, since a scored ring will take the edge off a new impeller inside a season.

How do I confirm this is my impeller?
Pull the old one and read the inlet side. It should be molded "SIDE DISH COVER 313-1530" and "ASSY 310-4010-D - 1 1/2 HP".
What size is it?
3-5/8 inches outside diameter with six vanes, 3-3/16 inches from the end of the shaft to the front of the intake, and an extended inlet 1 inch long with a 1-1/2 inch inside diameter.
Will a 2 HP impeller work instead?
No. Waterway sizes impellers to the horsepower of the pump, so a 1-1/2 HP Hi Flo takes the 1-1/2 HP impeller.
Why has my flow dropped?
A worn or blocked impeller loses flow even when the motor sounds normal. Vanes that are eroded, cracked or packed with debris are the usual cause once the basket and lines are clear.
