Quick overview

  • Spring loaded design The weir is sprung so it rides against the water line and keeps holding surface debris in the skimmer.
  • Measured 9-3/8 inches Length 9 3/8 inches, width 5 1/4 inches, thickness 1 1/8 inches, so you can check it against the old weir before ordering.
  • Foam included The foam float comes with the weir rather than being ordered separately.
  • Ships compressed A plastic line inside the weir holds the spring compressed for shipping.
  • Fit it before you pull the line Leave the plastic line in place until the weir is seated in the skimmer throat, then release it.
  • Baker Hydro skimmers Listed for the Baker Hydro Hydropak and in-ground Hydro skimmer bodies.

Product details

The SuperPro 940 is a spring loaded skimmer weir measuring 9 3/8 inches long, 5 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/8 inches thick. The foam float is included.

What the weir does

The weir is the hinged flap in the mouth of the skimmer. It floats up to the surface and accelerates the thin top layer of water into the basket, which is where leaves, pollen and oils sit. When a weir cracks, sticks or goes missing, surface debris drifts back out into the pool between pump cycles and the skimmer stops earning its keep.

Installing it

This weir is sprung, and it ships compressed with a plastic line running through it to hold the spring. Seat the weir in the skimmer throat first and only then pull the line. Releasing the spring early makes the part awkward to fit and can pop it out of your hands.

Before you order

Check the three measurements against the weir you are replacing. Skimmer throats vary between makes, and a weir that is a quarter inch out will either bind or sit loose.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What is the plastic line inside the weir for?
It holds the spring compressed so the weir arrives flat and easy to handle. Do not pull it until the weir is seated in the skimmer, or the spring will release before the part is in position.
Does the foam come with it?
Yes. The foam is included with this weir.
What size is it?
9 3/8 inches long, 5 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/8 inches thick. Measure the old weir at the same three points to confirm the swap.
Which skimmers does it suit?
It is listed for Baker Hydro Hydropak skimmers and Baker Hydro in-ground Hydro skimmers.
