The Pentair 178560 is the genuine OEM tank bottom for 150 and 200 square foot cartridge filters, listed for the Pentair Clean and Clear Plus and the American Products Predator. It is the lower half of the filter body, the part the cartridge assembly sits down into.
When you need it
Filter bottoms fail from age, freeze damage and over pressure. Once the plastic crazes or a hairline crack opens along the wall, the tank weeps or sprays whenever the pump runs, and sealants do not hold against filter pressure. Replacing the bottom is the repair.
What is included
The bottom body alone. Your cartridges, clamp band, lid and tank o-ring carry over, so inspect the o-ring while the filter is apart and replace it if it is flat or hard.
