Product details

The Pentair 178582 is the lid assembly for the Clean & Clear Plus 520 sq ft cartridge filter and the Quad D.E. 100 pool and spa filter. The two filters share the same tank top, so one part number covers both.

When to replace it

A filter lid that has cracked, warped or been damaged around the clamp band will not hold pressure against the tank o-ring, and a lid under pressure is not something to patch. This is the genuine Pentair assembly, ready to fit in place of the old one.

Get the size right

This lid is for the 520 sq ft Clean & Clear Plus and the Quad 100. The smaller CCP 420 and Quad 80 take the 178581 lid (PAC-051-8581). The tank o-ring underneath is the 20 7/8 in. ID ring (AMP-051-1068), and it is worth replacing when the lid comes off.

I have a Clean & Clear Plus 420. Is this the right lid?
No. The CCP 420 and the Quad 80 use the 178581 lid assembly (PAC-051-8581).
Should I replace the tank o-ring with it?
It is worth doing. The tank o-ring (AMP-051-1068, 20 7/8 in. ID) is what the lid seals against, and a fresh one is cheap next to a lid.
Is this a genuine Pentair part?
