Product details

This is the Jacuzzi DVK-7 multiport backwash valve, part number 39262803R, in the bolt on style. It is the seven position dial valve used on Jacuzzi sand filters, and it is listed under the Carvin name as well.

What a seven position valve does

The dial valve is what makes a sand filter useful. Turning the handle sends water through the sand to filter it, backwards through the sand to clean it, out to waste, or straight back to the pool. Seven positions cover normal running, backwashing, rinsing, waste, recirculation, closed and winter storage without any replumbing.

When to replace the whole valve

Valves usually fail in one of two ways: the plastic body cracks, or the internal seat wears until water bypasses between positions and the pool never quite clears. A cover kit covers some of that, but a cracked body or a worn seat is a valve replacement. This one bolts on, so confirm your filter uses the bolt on pattern rather than a threaded connection before ordering.
