Hayward Lock Ring Assembly with 2 Safety Clips

The Hayward CCX1000D is the lock ring assembly for the XStream cartridge filters, models CC1000, CC1500, CC1750 and CC2000. It is the genuine Hayward part and comes with two safety clips.

What it does

The lock ring is what holds the filter lid down on the tank body and keeps the seal watertight under pump pressure. The two safety clips lock the ring once it is tightened, so it cannot back off or be opened by accident while the system is running.

When to replace it

Replace the ring if the threads are cracked or stripped, if it will not draw the lid down evenly, or if a clip is missing. Do not compensate by tightening harder. If the lid still weeps with a sound ring, the tank body o-ring is the next thing to check; it is a separate part and worth changing at the same time.
