The Pentair PP4013 is a Parts-Paks seal and o-ring overhaul kit for the P4E, P4R, P4EA and P4RA pumps in the 2 HP full rate and 2-1/2 HP up-rate ratings.

Why buy it as a kit

A pump rebuild needs a shaft seal and a set of o-rings and gaskets that all have to be right. Sourcing them one at a time means several part numbers, several chances to get one wrong, and a pump sitting in pieces while the last o-ring ships. Pentair bundles them into a single Parts-Paks number instead.

What it fixes

The classic symptoms are water weeping from behind the motor at the shaft, or a pot that will not hold prime because the lid seal has gone hard. Both are seal problems and both are inside this kit. Noise, a motor that gets hot, or one that will not start are not seal problems, so diagnose before you order.

While you are in there

With the pump open, look over the impeller and diffuser for wear or debris. It costs nothing to check and saves taking the pump apart a second time.
