Pentair LA295 is the new style seal bracket for the Letro booster pump. It is the molded plastic plate that mounts between the motor and the wet end and carries the pump shaft seal.
Why it fails
The bracket takes the load of the seal and the heat coming off the motor. Over time the seal pocket wears, the plastic cracks around the mounting holes, or the face distorts. The result is water tracking out of the pump and, in the worst case, into the motor, which turns a small part into a motor replacement.
Fitting notes
This is the new style bracket, so check it against the one on your pump before you take the old one off. Since the shaft seal sits in this bracket, replace the seal at the same time and renew the volute o-ring while the pump is apart. Reassembling a booster pump twice in one season is a waste of a good afternoon.
