Product details

Pentair 356148Z is the seal plate o-ring for the IntelliFlo3 VSF 1.5 HP pump. It is the genuine Pentair part, the same ring the pump left the factory with.

What it seals

The seal plate is the wall between the wet end of the pump and the motor behind it. This o-ring is what keeps water on the correct side of that wall. When it hardens or takes a permanent set, water starts to appear at the split line where the motor and the pump body meet, and left alone that water finds its way into the motor.

Replace it on principle

Any time the wet end comes apart, whether for a shaft seal, a new impeller or just an inspection, this ring should be replaced rather than reused. It is one of the least expensive parts on the pump and by far the most common reason a job has to be done a second time. Confirm the part number against the parts list for your own pump before ordering.
