The Pentair 070430 is the hex cap bolt used on the pump housing, 3/8-16 thread, 1-1/4 inches long, in 18-8 stainless steel. It is cataloged with the IntelliFlo VS 3050 and VF pumps and the WhisperFlo WF and WFE pumps.

Why the grade matters

Housing bolts live in a wet, chlorinated environment and get taken out every time the pump comes apart. 18-8 stainless is what lets a bolt still turn out cleanly after several seasons. A plated bolt in the same hole will look fine for a year and then round off in the socket.
