Product details

The Pentair 357100Z is the black seal plate gasket used across the IntelliFlo family and on WhisperFlo pumps built from February 1, 2008 onward. It is the genuine Pentair part.

What it seals

The gasket sits between the seal plate and the pump housing. It is what keeps the wet end airtight, and an airtight wet end is what lets the pump pull and hold prime. When the gasket takes a set, gets nicked on reassembly or is simply reused one time too many, the pump starts losing prime, drawing air into the basket, or dripping at the seam.

Which pumps

Pentair lists it for the IntelliFlo VS, VF, VSF and VS-SVRS, the IntelliFlo 2 VST, the i1 and i2, and the original IntelliFlo, plus WhisperFlo pumps manufactured from February 2008 to the present. The WhisperFlo date qualifier matters, so check the build date on an older pump before ordering.

Fitting

Clean both faces before the new gasket goes in, and take the chance to change the shaft seal while the wet end is open. Those two parts together are what make a rebuild last.

Pentair lists it for the IntelliFlo VS, VF, VSF, VS-SVRS, 2 VST, i1 and i2, the original IntelliFlo, and WhisperFlo pumps manufactured from February 1, 2008 to present.
Will it fit an older WhisperFlo?
Pentair qualifies the WhisperFlo fit as models built from February 1, 2008 onward. Earlier WhisperFlo pumps are not covered by that listing, so check the build date on the pump.
Where does the gasket sit?
Between the seal plate and the pump housing, sealing the wet end so the pump holds prime.
Should I replace the shaft seal at the same time?
If the pump is open far enough to reach this gasket, yes. The shaft seal and this gasket are the two things you do not want to reuse once the wet end has been apart.
