Pentair 70429 is the hex head bolt used on several Pentair pump families, in 3/8-16 x 3/4 inch. It is the genuine Pentair fastener, not a hardware store substitute.

Where it is used

Pentair lists this bolt for the IntelliFlo VS3050 and VF variable speed pumps, the WhisperFlo WF and WFE pumps, and the R Series commercial pumps in the 5 to 15 HP range. The same size covers all of them.

Why the right bolt matters

Pump bolts live outdoors in wet, chlorinated air, and they are usually the first thing to seize or round off when a pump is opened for a seal or impeller job. Fitting the specified size and thread means the bolt pulls the housing down evenly and does not chew the threads it goes into. It is worth replacing any bolt that fights you on the way out while the pump is already apart.
