Product details

The Pentair EQK1500 is a 15 HP three phase commercial pool pump from the EQ Series, supplied with its strainer pot. It runs on 208-230 or 460 V, drawing 40.0 A at 208 V, 38.0 A at 230 V or 18.8 A at 460 V at full load, on a NEMA Premium efficiency motor. Part number 340035.

Built for continuous commercial duty

The pump is close coupled with a closed impeller, a combination chosen for durability and quiet, stable flow at high volume. Suction is 6 in. and discharge is 4 in., flanged, and the strainer pot keeps hair and lint out of the impeller. It is self-priming.

Drop-in and drive ready

The EQ Series is a drop-in replacement for the Pentair C Series pump, so an aging C Series can be swapped without re-plumbing the pad. It is also compatible with the Pentair Acu Drive XS variable frequency drive, which lets an operator match flow to demand rather than run at full speed at all times.

Delivery

At this size the pump ships by freight. Six inch and four inch flange kits with gaskets and stainless hardware are sold separately.

How many GPM does a 15 HP Pentair EQK1500 move at 50 feet of head?
About 725 GPM, read from the three phase curve in Pentair's EQ Series manual, at 60 Hz and 3,450 RPM. Flow falls as head rises, so work out the total dynamic head of your own system first; Pentair's advice is to pick a pump that will run near the middle of its curve, where it is most efficient.
Can the Pentair EQK1500 run on a variable frequency drive?
Yes. Pentair lists the EQ Series as compatible with its Acu Drive XS variable frequency drive, and its data sheet calls the pump a good match for one. Pentair warrants the Acu Drive XS for one year in commercial installations. The three phase motor still needs protection sized to its nameplate.
When should the strainer basket on a Pentair EQK1500 be cleaned?
When it is about a quarter blocked, by Pentair's manual; check it through the clear lid while the pump runs. To clean it, switch off the power, close the valves if needed, and take out the strainer pot's drain plug so the pressure equalizes before the locking ring comes off. Put the ring back hand tight only.
How long is Pentair's warranty on an EQK1500 bought online?
One year, parts only, from the date of purchase. Pentair's warranty terms give that to every product bought on the internet, its authorized online resellers included. Pentair also gives one year to products installed at a commercial facility, which it defines as anything other than a single family home, and its three year bundle warranty applies to neither commercial installations nor online purchases.
